Cinco estudiantes de la ESAP se embarcaron en la más sorprendente experiencia académica en la ciudad de Nueva York, Estados Unidos. En la delegación viajaron tres estudiantes de Maestría en Administración Pública de la Sede Central, Carlos Andrés Bedoya Ortiz; María Juliana Jiménez Martínez y Jorge Francisco Vaca Castrillón y dos estudiantes la Maestría en Derechos Humanos, Gestión de la Transición y Posconflicto, Leisa María Borja García de la Territorial Huila Caquetá-Putumayo y Cristhian Camilo Rodríguez Herrera de la Sede central. La comisión académica está liderada por la profesora de Programas de Especialización y Maestría de la Facultad de Posgrado María Victoria Whittingham.
¿Cómo se logró este intercambio? La ESAP firmó un memorando de entendimiento con la Universidad de Nueva York y tras el objetivo de fortalecer las capacidades investigativas y formativas de la Escuela, se realizará un seminario de investigación en una de las mejores universidades del mundo entre el 16 de junio y 6 de julio del presente año.
La Doctora Whittingham es la docente invitada para enseñar junto con el profesor Thomas Hill, el Seminario Conjunto de Investigación en solución de conflictos, gestión pública y Construcción de Paz. Durante el curso van a intercambiar conocimiento y metodologías para investigar en el contexto del posconflicto, dando como resultado 5 propuestas de investigación que serán desarrolladas por parte de los estudiantes en Colombia en agosto de 2019.
El convenio entre las dos universidades, es el reflejo del compromiso que asume la ESAP en función de la transformación del Estado y el ciudadano a través de la formación, la capacitación y la investigación sobre la administración de lo público.

Gathered in City that Never Sleeps
Five ESAP students embarked on the most exciting academic experience when they arrived at John F Kennedy airport in New York on Sunday.
The group – the first ESAP delegation to travel to the United States- includes three Master of Public Administration students from Bogota, Carlos Andrés Bedoya Ortiz, María Juliana Jiménez Martínez y Jorge Francisco Vaca Castrillón and two students from the Master´s Degree in Human Rights, Transition and Post Conflict Management: Leisa María Borja García – from Huila Caquetá – Putumayo Territorial and Cristhian Camilo Rodriguez Herrera from headquarters Bogotá. The academic delegation is led by Professor María Victoria Whittingham, who works as an instructor in the post- graduate faculty’s Specialization and Master’s Programs.
How did we achieve this exchange? ESAP signed a memorandum of understanding with New York University (NYU) with the objective to strengthen the research and training capacities of the school. As part of this agreement, ESAP students have joined five NYU students as short-term scholars to participate in the Joint Research Seminar in Peacebuilding at one of the best universities in the world between June 16th and July 6th of 2019.
Dr. Whittingham was invited to co-teach the Joint Research Seminar in Peacebuilding with NYU professor Dr. Thomas Hill. Throughout the course, they will exchange knowledge and methodologies to conduct research within the post-conflict context; ESAP and NYU students will develop five joint-research projects to carried out in Colombia in August 2019.
The agreement between the two institutions reflects ESAP’s commitment to transform the State and its citizens through the education, training and research about public administration.
